9 Strange Food Combinations Only People In Buffalo Will Love
Buffalo is typically a bit behind on the latest trends. Whether we like it or not, the rest of the country is usually a small step ahead of us in terms of trends and fads. But if there is one thing we are ahead of the curve on, it’s our knowledge of perfect food pairings. Here are nine strange (to outsiders) food combinations you’ll love if your tastebuds have been cultured in the Queen City:

What's better than puffy pillows of dough? Said pillows of dough filled with hot sauce and chicken!

Who needs relish when you can use an entire pickle slice? Ted's is famous for this ultimate Buffalonian hot dog topping, and we can't thank them enough.

Okay, so technically Canadians love this one, too, but if you travel too far from the border (and Buffalo), poutine is practically unheard of. Sorry, rest of the world. You're missing out.

This seems like a no-brainer, but if you venture far beyond Buffalo, bleu cheese and pizza is not one of your typical food combinations. If we could choose one dip to use on pizza and/or wings for the rest of our lives, bleu cheese would win the blue ribbon for sure. Pro tip: always ask for extra.

Veggies? Yep. Chips and breads? Duh. Burgers and fries? Sure, why not! When I dip, you dip, we dip Bison dip in anything and everything we can think of.

Because dijon mustard is for wimps. We go big in Buffalo with straight up horseradish for an extra kick to the classic yellow condiment, and no one does it better than Weber's!

Nothing beats the sweet smell of Chiavetta's in the summer time, and when grilling season comes around, you'll likely find Buffalonians dousing poultry, veggies, and yep - even salads - with the delicious marinade. We just can't get enough!

So technically we don't eat these together, but roast beef and custard is a classic combination in Buffalo, thanks to Andersons of course. Nothing cleanses the palate after a savory roast beef on salty kimmelweck roll than a nice cold custard treat!

If you haven't tasted the glory that is chicken wing soup, we are sincerely sorry for you. Hot sauce, chicken, and cheeses combine for this Buffalo specialty. It's the classic comfort food you know and love - but better!
