We’ve long known that the City of Good Neighbors is the best city in America. But, the rest of the country often forgets that we exist. Maybe it’s because we’re tucked away up north. Or, maybe it’s because some larger cities steal the spotlight. Whatever the reason, it’s high time the rest of the USA catch up. These are the reasons Buffalo is the best…and we’re not afraid to say it!
1. We have a passion like no other city.
Have you ever met a Bills season ticket holder who
didn't have passion? Didn't think so. Between sports and weather, you've got to have a level of passion to live in Buffalo.
2. Speaking of weather...
The rest of the country might joke about the winters in Buffalo, but it takes a certain kind of person to get through it. Buffalo has taught us to be strong, hearty, and always optimistic that spring is coming... eventually.
3. And, despite the storied winters, we do have some breaks.
Have you ever walked outside in a jacket in the morning and come home at night wishing you had shorts? Yep, that's Buffalo. Don't let the weather report fool you. It DOES get warm here. Even in the winter!
4. Other cities don't have Sahlen's Hot Dogs.
While most cities have foods you can't find anywhere else, we like to believe that Sahlen's in Buffalo is the best. And, they mean winter is over!
5. We've got access to the most beautiful waterways.
The rest of the country considers us "stuck" in the middle of New York, but the reality is far from that. We've got some great real estate next to Lake Erie, making summers feel like a holiday. Let's just forget about that winter wind, shall we?
6. Where else is the Polish pride this big?
Nowhere! Dyngus Day in Buffalo includes dancing, a parade, and as much kielbasa as your stomach can hold. Try finding that somewhere else.
7. No place is as passionate as Buffalo.
Bad weather? Cold? Snow? Nope, none of it keeps us from celebrating all things Buffalo. Was anyone else one of the 44,592 people at New Era Field to break the attendance record for World Juniors?
8. We're not all huge buildings and city streets.
Buffalo has some of the best smaller communities. Full of local shops and restaurants, it's easy to find a home in Buffalo without having to live in the city.
9. Our history is rich and stays with us forever.
Do you remember AM&A's, the Super Flea, or even Record Theatre? These beauties of Buffalo's past have stayed in our hearts for ages. That's because our city is special and fills us with a pride many other cities don't have.
10. Tim. Hortons.
Sure, a few other cities have them. But, for a long time, Buffalo laid claim to this morning staple. And we'll hold on to that as long as possible.
11. You won't find the sweet taste of Loganberry anywhere else.
Crystal Beach Loganberry will always remind you of home, no matter where in the world you are. Unfortunately, you might have a hard time finding it if you're anywhere but home!
12. Beaches! We have 'em!
The rest of the country pictures us perpetually covered in snow, but the reality is that we've got some amazing places to enjoy the sunshine. Which also appears more than you might think.
13. Seasons? We've got those, too!
A lot of people equate harsh winters and cold weather with Buffalo. What these people don't know is that we actually have and enjoy all four seasons. It's the winters that make these seasons even sweeter.
14. The rest of the country loves Buffalo wings, but we're the only ones who truly understand them.
Have you ever had wings in another city? If the answer is no, you're not alone. Why risk it?!
15. We're the kindest folks in America.
We're not called the City of Good Neighbors for no reason. We put others first, we help our friends and family, and we often see the good where others might see the negative. If you're in a pinch, you'll want someone from Buffalo nearby.
