The One Of A Kind Festival You Won’t Find Anywhere But Buffalo
Summer is just around the corner, and it’s time to start filling your calendar with ways to enjoy the warm weather! If colorful balloons, live music, and fireworks sounds like fun to you, set aside some time in July to visit this beautiful hot air balloon festival in Wellsville, NY!

The Wellsville Balloon Rally is held on the third weekend in July. The festival was started in 1975 and is completely volunteer-led.

This three-day festival has been the largest event in Wellsville for 39 years, and this year they're celebrating their 42nd anniversary.

The Wellsville Balloon Rally is an all-day affair, starting with a colorful parade at 11AM.

The most popular decor item on the floats? Balloons! The Main Street festival gathers quite the crowd.

Bring your lawn chairs and get there early to claim your spot to watch the balloons take off. There is free parking at the event and a shuttle available to take you back-and-forth.

Each Balloon Rally hosts several pilots and over 35 hot air balloons. The launches take place from Island Park in Wellsville on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of the festival weekend.


Balloon rides are available for purchase at the event on a first-come, first-served basis. What a way to spend a beautiful summer's day!


Who wouldn't love to watch giant clowns, birthday cakes, panda bears, and other novelty hot air balloons floating through the sky? The Wellsville Balloon Rally is a great place to bring the kids for some awe-inspiring fun!

Each event weekend consists of four different launches: Friday at 6PM, Saturday at 6AM and 6PM, and Sunday at 6AM.

Stay until after sunset to catch a glimpse at the beautiful glow from the balloons while you enjoy live music and a fireworks display to end the night.
