Just over 150 miles east of Buffalo, the Newfield Covered Bridge is a historic gem of New York State that you'll want to get a look at for yourself.
...the Newfield Covered Bridge of Tompkins County actually happens to be the oldest covered bridge in New York to still carry motor vehicle traffic. Woah!
That's not all though, if you take the time to pull over after driving across the Newfield Covered Bridge, you'll find a series of staircases that will lead you down to overlooks around and under the bridge — offering views of small waterfalls and the West Branch Cayuga Inlet.
At 115-feet long and 16-feet wide, over the years the bridge has been reconstructed to replace old timber, but the Newfield Covered Bridge's charm still looks the same as it did back in the 1850s.
