This Little Known Lake Near Buffalo Will Be Your New Favorite Destination
If you’re looking for a great place to hit the water but don’t want to travel too far, head down to Chautauqua County and you’ll be greeted with open arms by the quaint hamlet of Findley Lake, just north of the Pennsylvania line. No matter when you visit, this gorgeous natural wonder is the perfect place to escape everyday life without breaking the bank.

Findley Lake is a beautiful 292-acre lake located in southern Chautauqua County. The lake is well known for fishing, with several species of fish – from Northern Pike and Walleye to Smallmouth Bass – present in its waters.

There are two public access boat launches for motorized boats and canoes at the northern end of the lake in the village of Findley Lake. The lake itself reaches depths of 38 feet, with an average depth of 11 feet and 5.5 miles of picturesque shoreline.

In the village of Findley Lake, you can treat yourself to shopping, dining, and recreational activities. Be sure to check out the "Our Own Candle Company" outlet shop for unique home goods and homemade candles. The parking lot outside the store is also used for several local festivals in the summer months!

Speaking of festivals... if you're lucky enough to be at Findley Lake for the 4th of July holiday, you can grab front row views for the Boat Parade, where Findley Lake residents and visitors go all out with their boat float decor!


If you're looking for fun landside, head to the Blue Heron Inn to wine, dine, shop, AND stay at this beautiful Bed and Breakfast and "Nostalgia Shoppe."

Findley Lake is also just minutes from popular Western New York resort, Peek 'n Peak, where you can enjoy outdoor activities such as segway tours, golfing, and exploring the outdoor zipline and aerial adventure course.
