While thrift stores are certainly great for finding new-to-you clothing items and shoes, they’re also a great place to find unique home furnishings and decor! In Buffalo, we have several great thrift stores to choose from, but one of the most impressive is Habitat ReStore, a local nonprofit with a wonderful mission and an even better selection of materials. Let’s take a look!
Habitat ReStore has two locations: 501 Amherst Street in Buffalo and 1675 South Park Avenue in South Buffalo.
When you shop at the ReStore, you'll be happy to not only save some money on your household items, but also to know that your purchases are going to a good cause: helping low-income families build homes in Buffalo!
According to their Facebook page, "The Restore promotes neighborhood revitalization through the sale of low cost building materials, makes home improvements more affordable to low-income families, encourages environmental sustainability and the use of re-useable materials, and encourages people to shop consciously in support of a local nonprofit working in their own community."
While most of the items at the ReStore are gently used, they do sometimes receive new materials or "scratch and dent" items available at much lower cost than retail.
