9 Things You’ve Just Accepted As Fact If You Drive In Buffalo
Buffalo is a unique city in that most people who live here actually use their own vehicles as a main form of transportation. Although we’re now happily using ridesharing services and our public transit is fairly reliable, many Buffalonians are drivers. If you’ve spent any time behind the wheel in the 716, you can relate to these 9 things you’ve just accepted as fact:
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

In Buffalo, drivers fall into one of two camps: those who use caution in the snow, and those who view it as a personal challenge to drive as fast as possible through it. Many fall into the latter category.

This is something that we will never understand. We can go well above the speed limit in the snow, but as soon as a few drops of rain fall, there are brake lights galore!

There are few things more terrifying than playing chicken with an oncoming snowplow.

Bob and weave, people!

It's a YIELD, not a stop! (In most cases, anyway.)

Have you ever been at a four-way stop and no one is following the rules of the road because they're trying to be nice? To be fair, it's better than the alternative...

Especially during rush hour, prepare to stop for longer than normal on the 290.

You'll sometimes encounter unexpected roadblocks, like the Paradise-Klein Turkey. (We're happy to report he is now safely off the roads!)

There's nothing that gives you the feeling of accomplishment quite like knowing exactly which streets you can and can't go down without even looking at the signs!
