9 Things That Come To Everyone’s Mind When They Think Of Buffalo
Buffalonians know there is a whole lot more to our city than what meets the eye, but that doesn’t mean the stereotypical Buffalo traits aren’t still top of the mind for outsiders. There are several things to boast about in Buffalo: our art scene, nightlife, up-and-coming restaurants, entrepreneurial spirit, and the list goes on. But this list is another story. Here are 9 things that come to everyone’s mind when they think of Buffalo (whether we like it or not).
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

It should come as no surprise that snow is one of the first things that comes to mind when people think of Buffalo. We certainly get our fair share of it during the winter months.

Again, no shock here! We are the proud birthplace of the chicken wing (or as we call them, just "wings"). Many places try to imitate our favorite food item, but they just don't compare to the authentic taste of a WNY wing!

Bills fans are an intense bunch. Exhibit A: this couple who recently got married during the home opener tailgate. Bills Mafia or bust!

Before he was pegged as a potential murderer and locked up for armed robbery and kidnapping, he was known in Buffalo as "The Juice." He might not have the best track record with the law, but he was pretty darn good when he played for the Bills!

Speaking of the Bills... if Buffalo comes up in sports conversation, it's likely not a positive thing. We're all just hoping for one big win before we die – but in the meantime, we have to live with the curses of games past. (Do wide right and no goal ring a bell?)

Our northern neighbors and Buffalo go hand-in-hand, whether we like it or not. I guess it's not so bad to be situated to close to one of the world's greatest wonders!

Speaking of Buffalo going hand-in-hand with other places... this one is cringe-worthy for Buffalonians. When you think of Buffalo, please do us all a favor and do NOT associate us with New York City!

In case you didn't realize it from our tailgates, Buffalonians have a tendency to be party animals! Our last call ends at the same time many people wake up for the early morning shift, and we're darn proud of it!

While we do get a lot of snow (Blizzard of '77, Snowvember, etc.), many people wrongfully think of Buffalo as having nearly year-round winters. For those outsiders who like to judge us based on a few months of weather reports, we urge you to visit in the summer!
