You know the old adage: you don’t know what you have until it’s gone. For anyone who has ever roamed away from Buffalo, you can definitely agree with the sentiment. There are certain things that are just better in the Buff, and we’re here to prove it. Take a look at these 9 things Buffalonians always take for granted.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. Not flat like New York style, not deep dish like Chicago. Buffalo pizza is the best. Those round, grease-filled pepperonis, deliciously melted cheese, and the perfect dough-to-topping ratio make pizza here absolutely perfect.
They don't call us the City of Good Neighbors for nothing! You never realize how many people give a friendly smile or stick around to hold a door in Buffalo until you leave. This is something Buffalonians take for granted on the daily.
We might think our traffic is out of control while we're stuck by the "Big Blue Watertower" for 30 minutes, but that's nothing compared to other major cities. Our commutes, though snowy and slow at times, are actually very manageable!
Our housing market and overall cost of living is very reasonable here in Buffalo. When you need a reality check or want to feel thankful for your current situation, head to any other city and take a look at the price tags!
This is one of the main things Buffalonians take for granted. Our grocery store options are plentiful, and they're all amazing in their own ways! Whether you like local markets for fresh produce or finding everything under one roof at Wegman's, you can likely find a spot to shop right around the corner.
Not everyone likes excessive amounts of snow, but you have to admit that staying home on a snow day is pretty darn nice!
Night owls thrive in Buffalo, and our 4AM last call is something locals take for granted pretty often. We're not always up for pulling an all-nighter, but when we are, it's nice to know your favorite bars will be open!
You never realize how much you rely on your daily Tim Horton's or local cafe stop until you are out of town and can't get your usual caffeine fix. Sure, there are coffee shops everywhere, but Buffalo just seems to brew it better!
Our unique activities and tourist attractions are something that Buffalonians take for granted more than just about anything else. Take one look around the city and check out local guide books to see all the city has to offer. There's a ton to do around here!
