Originally built back in 1889, what was once the C.H. Evans Firehouse on Warren Street is now one of the most delicious bookstores you'll ever step into.
While you're shopping around the store and looking through the more than 10,000 books that are stocked inside of here, you just might end up working up a thirst for something local and tasty.
That's where the bar comes in! Spotty Dog Books & Ale has its own bar, where they keep both a variety of New York-based brews and out-of-state options available for visitors.
Of course, New Yorkers will be especially pleased to hear that they have things on tap like C.H. Evans ale’s from Albany, IPA’s from Athens and Buffalo, cider from Newburgh, Stout from Lakewood, Kombucha from Troy, and an APA right from Hudson. You can even buy one of these custom-printed Spotty Dog pint glasses to take home with you if you want.
It's hard to believe that so much could be kept under just one roof, but it's true. The Spotty Dog Books & Ale has a bar, bookstore, and even a little-known art supply store in the back.
