Additionally, there will be lots of craft vendors throughout the festival---and competitions that the Hatch Chile Festival is famous for. The Hatch Chile Festival is well known for the Chile Eating Contest and the Watermelon Eating Contest, which are always so much fun to watch and cheer for. Finally, other tournaments include the Chile recipe contest, a chile growing contest, and even a cornhole tournament, so make sure you bring your A-game!
It's hard to decide if the Carnival or the Parade is more fun! The Carnival is open Friday through Sunday, and features all sorts of your favorite carnival rides! The Parade rolls at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning and travels through the village of Hatch.
Be sure to stop by and check out the vendors. There will be live chile roasting happening on-site, and lots of opportunities to learn about chiles and try various dishes featuring them!
In addition to all the exciting chile vendors, you can find all the common festival vendors, such as cotton candy and lemonade stands.
The Hatch Chile Festival is a blast every year, and is a great place for people to come together and celebrate the village of Hatch and the delicious chile pepper.
