This Old Time Cafe In New Mexico Will Take You Back To Yesteryear
If you’re looking to take a step back in time and experience a meal that you’ll never forget, this tiny restaurant in the small town of Magdalena will take you back to yesteryear. Cafe by day, and steakhouse by night, this old time restaurant will take you back to the Old West while satisfying your appetite with delicious food.
Welcome to Magdalena Cafe in the sweet village of Magdalena within Socorro County.
Magdalena used to be a booming mining town with its population surpassing even that of Socorro. Now, what remains is a sweet charm, and this cafe embraces it fully.
This town may be off the beaten path, but it's so worth the trip. If you need more of a reason than this quaint cafe, every year in July Magdalena hosts an Old Timers Reunion complete with a rodeo, parade, and barbecue.
Magdalena Cafe sits upon the Green Chile Cheeseburger Trail, so of course, they serve up an amazing burger.
This burger starts with a hand-formed patty and is topped with green chile from Sichler Farms. This green chile cheeseburger stands up against the best of the best and keep you full all day.
Magdalena Cafe also has many New Mexican favorites and a flat-bottomed taco shell to hold in all the goods. These tacos are filled to the brim, and surprisingly good for being a hard shell taco.
This restaurant has somewhat odd hours. The "steakhouse" portion of the restaurant is when dinner is served, only on Thursday and Friday nights from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Breakfast and lunch are served Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
This charming restaurant in Magdalena is the quintessential small town cafe, and it will transport you to yesteryear while satisfying your appetite.
Magdalena Cafe is located at 109 Main St., Magdalena, NM.
