This trail in New Mexico will not only take you to some spectacular views, but you’ll see incredible caves, fascinating rock formations, and even some wildlife. However, prepare yourself as the Shelter Caves Trail isn’t an easy climb. You must work to achieve its incredible rewards.

The Shelter Caves Trail in New Mexico is a 3.4-mile out-and-back trail. On your journey, you will walk through all types of terrain from grassy meadows to desert landscapes.

This trail is rated moderate as there is quite an incline ahead of you. In just a few miles, you will climb nearly 900 feet.
