Welcome to the Randall Davey Audubon Center! This education center and refuge is nestled at the mouth of Santa Fe Canyon, and it's absolutely beautiful.

The education center, historic Randall Davey home, New Mexico Audubon offices, and nature preserve sit on 135 acres that you're welcome to explore free of charge. You may wish to make a small donation to the Audubon Center during your visit.

Explore the sanctuary's hiking trail system to immerse yourself in the beauty of this place.

Bring your camera and binoculars to see as many as 190 bird species. From tiny hummingbirds...

...to large wild turkeys, witnessing these birds in their natural habitat is a real treat.

During your exploration, keep an eye out for birds everywhere. Look down on the ground...

...and up in the trees. Nature's beauty is all around you here.

Birds aren't the only creatures you'll encounter at this sanctuary. Keep an eye out for chipmunks, squirrels, rabbits, and other small mammals.

You might even see some larger mammals, too. Deer are common, and some visitors even catch a glimpse of black bears.

You'll want to take the tour of the Randall Davey House and Studio every Friday at 2 p.m.. The docent who leads this tour tells you all about the history of this carefully-preserved home built in the mid 1900s. You'll see beautiful murals and artworks...

...and even get a peek at the hidden Prohibition-era bar!
