Rare Vintage Footage From The 1940s Shows You Every Part Of New Mexico
New Mexico has increasingly become a popular location for filming. We’ve been seeing the state’s landscape featured in various films and TV shows recently, such as “Hostiles” and “Better Call Saul.”
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. This particular film was shot and produced in 1947 and was even available in color. You can find and download a copy of the film at The Travel Film Archive.

Among these was this film series, created as educational films. These documented incredible places that most Americans at the time could only dream to see.




For example, they mention the Inter-Tribal Ceremonial in Gallup as an attraction to see, as well as highlighting New Mexico's history with a look at pueblos and its Hispanic heritage.
