This national monument contains some jaw-dropping geological formations created by volcanic eruptions and weathering over millions of years. Among those are hoodoos that jut from the landscape and slot canyons that hug the rocks.

The trek through this trail feels something like going through a rock maze since you will be hiking through a slot canyon and up to an overlook. It measures approximately three miles over and back and is a moderately difficult trail.

The national monument is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For details on how to get to the national monument, park closures, and more, visit the BLM website.
