It is slowly starting to feel a little more like winter out there. Parts of the state received snow not long ago and we will hopefully be getting even more very soon. If you’re looking for ways to warm up while those temperatures keep dropping, you’ll want to check out this picturesque hot spring resort near Santa Fe.
Welcome to the ever-alluring Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort and Spa, a place that feels like the middle of nowhere.
This luxurious location is actually one of the oldest such resorts in the country, with its doors first opening in 1868 as a small bathhouse. Since then, it's grown into one of New Mexico's best hot springs resorts. It is home to four different mineral waters to soak in: iron, soda, lithia, and arsenic. These are also all sulfur-free, so you don't need to worry about smelling like a hard-boiled egg when you step out of the waters.
Situated about an hour north of Santa Fe, the landscape is the perfect background for the historic Ojo Caliente.
Several of the resort's pools are open to the public for a day-use fee. For details about pool rates, booking a room, and more, visit the Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs website or Facebook page.
