This Picturesque River Hike In The Gila Wilderness Was Just Named One Of The Best In New Mexico
On the lookout for your next favorite hike? The popular travel magazine, Travel + Leisure, recently published a list of their favorite hikes across the country and it features some stunning locations. For New Mexico, they highlighted the Middle Fork Trail, a hiking trail on the western side of the state.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate
The Middle Fork Trail sits isolated in the vast Gila Wilderness, with the nearest town over an hour's drive away.
The trail measures a total of 11 miles, so be prepared with plenty of water. For additional information about the trail and a map, visit the Forest Service website or AllTrails.
