Not Many People Know New Mexico Has An Ale Trail And It Is Positively Intoxicating
Food and drinks are always my favorite parts of travel. What better way to learn about a place and culture than by sampling the very things that fuel its people and bring them comfort and joy? That’s probably part of the reason tasting trails have become so popular.
If you happen to be in southern New Mexico and are looking for something a little out of the ordinary, try out the Las Cruces Ale Trail. It features five breweries scattered around the city that offer some distinctively delicious lagers, stouts, and more. Let’s take a look!
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate
This brewery hosts two suites in the same location and will soon open another location on Telshor Court. Sample rich drinks like the extra dark Driftwood Oatmeal Stout or try something a bit lighter, like the house cider, Beyond the Trees.
Want to try a flight while feeling fancy? Stop by this lovely location which serves eleven craft house beers, as well as seasonal brews. Oh, and be sure to try the pecan amber brew. 😉

This brewery feels like a home away from home with a cozy atmosphere and a menu of comfort foods to accompany your tasting flight. It has a rotating menu of 27 beers that range from ales with fruity hints of peach to rich dark lagers.
This brewery is located in the historic Grapevine Plaza and has some wonderfully smooth brews that will please your palate. If you’re not sure where to start, try the Peak Light or the Dirty Blonde Ale. If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, try out the Green Chile Amber Ale or the Peanut Butter Stout.
I love the name of this brewery because I also have a spotted dog, but puppers aside, the brews here are fantastic. The beer menu varies each week but you’ll find smooth, creamy ales and stouts. We recommend sampling the milk stout and cream ale.

Those were some fantastic breweries! What kind of brews do you plan to choose when visiting? Don’t forget to drink responsibly and have a designated driver to get you home safely.
