This Melt In Your Mouth Chicken And Waffle Restaurant In New Mexico Will Blow You Away
We owe a debt of gratitude to whoever first united chicken with waffles. The combo sounds odd if you’ve never tried it, but after one bite of this crunchy, sweet, and juicy dish, you’ll be hooked. Since New Mexico is part of the Southwest rather than the South, soul food restaurants aren’t that common. However, one joint in Albuquerque has earned a reputation for down home food, done right.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. The overall effect is to make you feel like you’ve stumbled into a music lover’s living room that happens to smell like heaven. Making diners feel at home is an important part of a good soul food restaurant and, at Frank’s, it’s a slam dunk. With the atmosphere taken care of, on to the food…

The chicken is crisped on the outside and tender on the inside, with just the right amount of breading. The waffles are on the thinner side and slightly soft – a pleasant textural contrast to the wings. Top them with classic syrup or cinnamon butter.

...There are other dishes on the menu worth trying.

Cheesy and smooth, the shrimp and grits at this restaurant are a delight.

Among the side dishes, the fried pickles and collard greens stand out.

This scrumptious spot is located at 513 San Mateo Boulevard NE in Albuquerque. Here is the restaurant’s Facebook page.
