This Indian restaurant opened in Albuquerque last year but its owner, Narenda Kloty, is no stranger to either New Mexico or to owning and running Indian restaurants. Remember Bombay Grill, and India Palace (in Santa Fe)? Kloty used to own both eateries.
From the outside, Curry Leaf is somewhat nondescript. However, once you step inside, you know this is no ordinary buffet.
Curry Leaf doesn’t limit itself to the Northern Indian cuisine most commonly found in the U.S. Here, you’ll find Indo-Chinese dishes along with Southern Indian ones. Guess what's great about Southern Indian food?
Seasoning. Spice levels are complex enough to satisfy New Mexican palates. Since some items may be unfamiliar, a buffet is the ideal way to figure out your favorites.
At many buffets, vegetarian options are limited. That’s not the case here. The Madras tomato soup is scrumptious, as is the dal makhani (a black lentil dish originating in Pakistan).
