New Jersey Is The Smartest State In The U.S., According To A Recent Survey

Us New Jerseyans are pretty humble people, so by no means am I bragging when I state the following fact… New Jersey is the smartest state in the nation. That’s right America, we’re geniuses. Not exactly, but we are quite bright!

According to data reviewed by Safe Home, New Jersey is number one! They took into account a variety of factors and ranked states using a point system.

These factors include how many people aged 25 and older have college and professional degrees, high school graduation rates, and SAT/ACT scores.

New Jersey obtained 337.8 points, 13.8 points more than Utah, which ranked second. Idaho came in last, with 79.5 points.

Nearly 25 percent of adults in the Garden State have bachelor's degrees, compared to 12.2 percent of West Virginians. We have an overall high school graduation rate of 91% while New Mexico has a graduation rate of 71%.

We've also got the second-best public school system in the U.S., according to Wallet Hub. This study took into account test scores, dropout rates, safety, and teacher certifications.

So, does being smarter make us better? Of course not! And do test scores and graduation rates actually reflect overall intelligence?
