At one time, mining towns and fishing villages were abundant in the Garden State. From Bivalve to Batsto, several still remain, in one form or another. Still, one stands out for its unique charm. Located on an island, it’s isolated from the mainland and it’s our very own slice of a simpler time.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. While Viking Village has been commercialized over the years, it still retains its history and charm. Visit throughout the year at 19th Street and Bayview Avenue in Barnegat Light. Upcoming events include the Antique & Collectible Show on September 17th and Santa’s Viking Christmas Village on November 25th.
