The Sapphire Lake In New Jersey That’s Devastatingly Gorgeous
New Jersey may not be known for its clear, blue water but we do have a stunning sapphire lake that’s impossible not to love. The lake was formed in 1960 with the creation of a dam and now it is a popular destination for summer fun.
Round Valley Reservoir is located in Clinton, New Jersey.
To reach your campsite, you will need to hike or boat - there is no vehicle access. Pit toilets and drinking water are available within walking distance.
However, you can enjoy modern conveniences including a picnic area, restrooms and a snack and swim shop on the western side of the lake.
The reservoir is open all year, offering seasonal activities like fishing and sledding. A small entrance fee is charged per vehicle from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
