Autumn is almost here and that means a few things. First of all, it means outdoor fun. Many of us will visit pumpkin patches and sunflower fields but that’s not all New Jersey has to offer on a sunny day. We have some fantastic hiking trails including one that will take you high into the sky, a sliver of heaven on earth. Gorgeous all year, the trail really comes alive with color in the fall.

The hike from Pochuck Valley to Pinwheel Vista will take you straight to heaven.

In fact, your 7.3-mile moderate hike along the Appalachian trail includes a rocky 2.9-mile segment aptly called the "Stairway to Heaven."

Why? Probably because the jagged stairway takes you straight to the top of Waywayanda Mountain. On a clear day, you can see the High Point Monument.

While you can just hike the accessible boardwalk trail if you choose, I’d make it up to Pinwheel Vista if you’re able. You’ll see for miles; it’s truly magical.
