If you’ve lived in New Jersey for any length of time, you’ve probably been to Long Beach Island – or LBI, as it’s often called. The 18-mile barrier island is home to around 20,000 residents, divided into six separate municipalities; its population swells to over 100,000 in the summer months. Life on the island is pretty laid back, though some areas are more bustling than others.

Beach Haven is probably the most touristy, and is home to wonderful attractions including Fantasy Island Amusement Park, Thundering Surf Waterpark and the Museum of NJ Maritime History. Barnegat Light is home to a spectacular lighthouse along with a neighboring interpretive center and nearby museum. You’ll also find the charming Viking Village tucked away here.

No matter how many times you’ve frequented this island paradise, you’ve probably never seen it quite like you’re about to. The drone footage below (captured by K Mulholland) is both scenic and soothing, with calm waves crashing ashore, spectacular sunrises and aerial footage of Old Barney that’s absolutely gorgeous.

I could watch this over and over again? What about you? Learn about more New Jersey islands here and all that Viking Village has to offer here.
