And I’m one of those people. High Point State Park is absolutely stunning and offers one of my favorite views in New Jersey. Home to the highest point in the state, you can see for miles. Almost every New Jerseyan knows it exists, but here’s why you’ll absolutely want to visit.

At 1,803 feet above sea level, High Point State Park offers unparalleled views of New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

Hiking to the top of High Point is always an adventure, but you can also drive up and enjoy sights like this.

When you reach the summit, you will find a stunning 220-foot obelisk, built in 1930 as a war memorial. Visitors can climb to the top during summer months.

High Point State Park is also home to an interpretive center, offering a variety of programs. Visit on Earth Day (April 22nd) for yoga and meditation on the mountain. The family-friendly Teddy Bear Picnic will be held on April 29th and is an event that children are sure to love. You can find the park at: 1480 Route 23, Sussex.
