These 10 Places In New Jersey Are Paradise For Creative People
New Jersey offers inspiration and instructional opportunities to help creative types hone their craft or create their next masterpiece. Our state abounds with venues that foster creativity of all kinds, from cooking to crafting. The following are some of my favorites, located throughout New Jersey.
1. Carlo's Bakery, Hoboken
Home to reality show, "Cake Boss", Carlo's bakery offers all kinds of cake decorating classes in four New Jersey locations.
2. Wheaton Arts, Millville
Wheaton Arts offers a wide range of events, exhibits and classes, centered around the art of glass-making.
3. The Clay Pot, Spotswood
This pottery studio offers visitors the opportunity to both paint their own pottery and use the pottery wheel to make one-of-a-kind items.
4. Spring Street Art Center, Newton
This art center offers a selection of painting and drawing classes along with paint and sip parties! Members can also check out shows and special events! If you're looking to unlock your inner artist, consider the "Freeing Your Creative Spirit" course.
5. Sur La Table, Lawrenceville
This culinary shop offers a large selection of cooking classes including Croissants 101 and Enhancing Flavor With Spices. The Lawrenceville shop is located in Quaker Bridge Mall, though there are also classes offered in Marlton.
6. Montclair Art Museum, Montclair
Enjoy rotating exhibits, incredible art classes and interesting events! I'd highly recommend attending one of the museum's free First Thursday events featuring live music and entertainment!
7. Four Seasons Dance Studio, Bayville
Enjoy private and group ballroom, swing and line dancing classes! Participate in dance parties and get your groove on!
8. Grounds For Sculpture, Hamilton
This 42-acre sculpture park and museum is one of my favorite places to visit! It is truly beautiful and sure to spark your creativity!
9. New Jersey School Of Music, Medford/Cherry Hill
This prestigious school also offers group and semi-private music lessons to the public. It also offers a music therapy program!
10. Noyes Museum Of Art, Oceanville
This stunning museum on the campus of Stockton University offers incredible exhibits and unique classes.
