Sharks are regularly spotted off the Jersey Shore. There are so many different breeds that call the Atlantic Ocean home, after all! And even though New Jersey is actually where the shark attacks that inspired “Jaws” occurred, sharks are hardly ever a threat to New Jersey beach days. One utterly massive shark, though, was recently tracked along New Jersey, and his size is making headlines, per Newsweek.

The great white shark recently spotted off the Jersey Shore is making waves because of its size.

This shark weighs over 1,400 pounds and a little over 13.3 feet long.
Most recently, he was spotted swimming off the shore of Point Pleasant.

It seems to be moving north along the eastern U.S coast, though.
The massive shark's name? Breton.

Breton is named after the island of Cape Breton, which is near Nova Scotia.

Breton may be huge, and you certainly don't want to encounter a great white shark in the wild just in case. But he hasn't been spotted that close to the shore, and sharks rarely ever attack humans. We're not a food source for them, and they just want to live in peace!
Still, we'd rather not catch a glimpse of Breton in real life.
