Everyone loves candy. That’s a fact. So, if you happen to find yourself in New Jersey then you’ll have to stop in at Mrs.Hanna Krause’s Homemade Candy and pick up some delicious chocolate and sugary candies to satisfy your sweet tooth. This legendary candy store started with Alfred Krause, a candymaker and immigrant from Germany. He and his wife Hanna opened a gas station in New York where they gave away their homemade goodies. After they tasted the freebies, customers began placing orders and paying for the sweet treats. As the gasoline business started to decline and become less prosperous because of the war, the two decided to take their candy business full-time. And, that’s how Mrs.Hanna Krause’s Homemade Candy began!
