There’s Nothing Better Than This Epic Festival In New Jersey
There’s a lot to do in New Jersey; we may be a small state but you’ll never be bored here. In addition to our amazing attractions, we host some pretty epic festivals. One of our largest festivals is the QuickChek Festival in ballooning. Almost every one of us has heard of it, but here’s why you should attend:
The QuickChek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning is the largest summertime hot air balloon and music festival in North America.
It holds the honor of being a recipient of The New Jersey Governor's Award for Best Special Event. It has also been designated as a Top 100 Festival in North America a total of six times.
If you'd rather keep your feet on the ground, just watch and enjoy the 100+ uniquely shaped balloons take flight. You won't want to miss their glow at night.
From Darth Vader to the Energizer Bunny and even the Angry Birds, you'll spot a wide variety of characters along with sharks, arks, lighthouses and more.
But this festival isn't only about balloons. The festival offers live music by big name acts (the Jonas Brothers performed in 2007), family entertainment, crafters, vendors, food, fireworks and much more.
This year's entertainment lineup is sure to be outstanding. Previous headliners have included Foreigner, Third Eye Blind and The Beach Boys. There are concerts each night of the festival with a total for five major shows to enjoy.
Fun for all ages, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. In its 35th year, the festival will run from July 28th – July 30th. Crowds of around 200,000 are expected over the course of three days. Adult tickets start at $35 at the gate, with VIP packages and ride add-ons available. You can score big savings by buying online in advance. You can snag a day pass for $20 until June 30th ($8 for kids 4-12, guests 3 and under are free). A portion of the profit supports local charities. QuickChek it out at: Solberg–Hunterdon Airport, 39 Thor-Solberg Road, Whitehouse Station (Readington).
