The Christmas Lights Road Trip Through New Jersey That’s Nothing Short Of Magical
While heading to the nearest holiday lights display is always fun, why not make Christmas even more magical? A holiday lights road trip is the perfect way to make memories that will last a lifetime. Maybe it will become a new family tradition. Here’s a two-day trip that takes you through some of the best displays in New Jersey.

Christmas Lights Show at Skylands Stadium - 94 Championship Place, Augusta
This drive-through display features over 2 million lights on a 1-mile course of pure magic. Lights go on at 4:30 and admission is $20 per carload on weekends and $17 on weekdays. Discount tickets can be bought at local Walgreens. Your admission includes access to the indoor Christmas Village with crafts, carolers, costumed characters, cocoa and more.
Holiday Lights at Turtle Back Zoo - 560 Northfield Avenue, West Orange
This holiday spectacular is absolutely free, though they are accepting donations of non-perishable food, new, unwrapped toys and gently used winter coats. Walk through a display of around 1,000,000 lights, making up 50 different animals and holiday figures. Each day brings different activities, from selfies with Santa to costumed characters.
The Christmas Light Show - 2744 Belmar Boulevard, Wall Township
This local light display is free, though donations are accepted for the Challenged Youth Sports organization. The 2015 show is pictured. Set to music, the Wall Christmas Lights are absolutely epic. Dates are limited, but currently include December 10th, 11th and 17th with shows at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m..
Stay - Majestic Hotel - 19 Main Avenue, Ocean Grove
This charming bed and breakfast is hosting a holiday party on December 10th, which pairs well with the town's Victorian Holiday Festival on the 10th and 11th. If you visit that weekend, you can enjoy inn, home and tent tours in the morning before heading out for evening light shows.
Holiday Light Show - 615 E Moss Mill Road, Smithville
You can also spend the morning shopping at Historic Smithville, offering a truly unique selection of goods and gifts. When night falls, watch the free light show on Lake Meone.
Christmas Fantasy With Lights - 6415 Black Horse Pike, Egg Harbor Township
Come for the lights alone or enjoy the rides and games. Santa Claus lights up the park at 5 p.m.. Always a magical place, Storybook Land is even more whimsical in the winter.
Cape May - The entire town!
