New Jersey has hundreds of beautiful lakes, all throughout the state. We’ve got big lakes, small lakes, natural and man-made, each as beautiful as the next. Some are for swimming, some are for boating, all are a great place to relax. Here are just a dozen of the most beautiful lakes in our incredibly scenic state.

1. Crater Lake, Kittatinnies

This lake in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area gets its name from the legend that it was created in 1853 by a meteor strike.

3. Batsto Lake, Hammonton

5. Meadowlands Marshes, Lyndhurst
