Where are the best places to go camping in NH?
It's really hard to pick the best camping in New Hampshire destinations because there is such an eclectic blend of camping styles with primitive camping, lake camping, RV camping, and even yurt rentals. But here are a few of the best places to go camping in NH with beautiful views:
White Lake State Park, Tamworth, NH: The beach at White Lake is a key feature of this lovely campground. In fact, it is one of the best beaches in the White Mountain area. The lake itself is a cool crisp glacial lake with abundant trout, a nice trail that leads around the lake, and boat rentals available for cruising.
Dry River Campground, West Bartlett, NH: Located in Crawford Notch State Park, this rustic campground may not have all of the amenities of some of the bigger campgrounds, but if your goal is to enjoy nature there is no finer place to do so. Enjoy hiking trails, waterfalls, and gorgeous mountain views.
Bear Brook State Park, Allenstown, NH: Bear Brook is the largest state park in New Hampshire, and with 40 miles of hiking trails to explore, it will keep you busy for a while. You will find epic views, fishing holes, streams, ponds, and wildlife around every corner. It also has numerous activities like archery ranges, horseback riding, playgrounds, boating, and winter sports as well.
Umbagog Lake State Park, Cambridge, NH: If remote camping is what you are looking for, this state park checks that box. The only camping sites available are only accessible by boat. It's an incredible experience filled to the brim with nature — moose wandering the marshes, loons calling as the sun sets, and abundant wilderness to explore.
