The Perseid Meteor Shower is one of the most beloved events among those who love the night sky. Each year, the Perseids dance across the summer night sky and this year is looking to be just as fantastic as all the rest!
Experts say that the highest number of meteors should fly by in the early morning of August 11, 12, and 13. But, this year we'll have an especially bright moon which means many of the meteors may be hard to see in the morning. Don't fret, though.
A great view of the Perseids will exist the night of August 12 into the early morning of August 13. Those who look up towards to the sky during this time are expected to have a great view with the maximum number of meteors.
Experts anticipate this to be a great year for the stars and we're just as excited. The most ideal viewing conditions are when it's dark out, so when choosing a place try to make sure there's no artificial light. This means avoiding large cities. Head to the smaller towns or even better try camping at a high elevation.
