The Timeless New Hampshire Restaurant Everyone Needs To Visit At Least Once
New Hampshire is full of great restaurants, and old places. Nevertheless, one particular spot stands out both for its good food and for its incredible history. Have you been to the Hancock Inn’s Fox Tavern? If not, it’s time to plan your visit to this gem.
In 1789, the first year that George Washington was in office, Noah Wheeler opened a tavern/inn in Hancock.
After many different iterations and names, the lovely building became known as the Hancock Inn, and its eatery the Fox Tavern. It is both the oldest inn and the oldest restaurant in the state!
You’ll find the Fox Tavern at 33 Main St, Hancock, NH 03449.
