The #1 and #2 spots were claimed by Florida and Colorado, but New Hampshire scored well among each of the categories that made up the final ranking.

High scores among factors such as affordability (adjusted cost of living and tax-friendliness on pensions & social security income, to name a few), quality of life (a la access to public transit and share of population aged 65+), and overall healthcare pushed New Hampshire to the top of the list, beating out Utah and Wyoming who came in at #4 and #5.
