Warm weather and sunny skies are two of our favorite reasons to spend time in New England this time of year. While the entire region is fantastic, there’s something extra-special about our state. While there’s still a lot of sunny days ahead, as we start planning the end of the season we’ll be making sure to attend our favorite summer festival in New Hampshire which has been happening for 31 years!
New Hampshire and the other northern New England states are known for a lot of things, but the plentiful moose population is one of the most notable.
And that's why we're not surprised to learn that the 31st Annual North Country Moose Festival in Colebrook is expected to be one of the most popular end of summer festivals in New Hampshire this year.
While our favorite event is the moose calling competition, there are plenty of non-furry events to enjoy as well. Car enthusiasts will appreciate the classic car show with beauties from all over the region.
The dog show is one of the most popular events that takes place over the weekend. We love the moose, but you can't deny the cute overload that comes with a bunch of local dogs vying for the title of best in show!
The weekend also offers face painting, a petting zoo, maple syrup tasting and plenty of other fun events so be sure to plan for attending on both days.
As summer winds down, this is a great way to remind yourself just how great it is to be in New Hampshire.
The North Country Moose Festival takes place every year the weekend before Labor Day. You can learn more about what to expect and how to plan your time there by visiting their website. Stay current on all festival-related news by following them on Facebook.
