Yes, we know – it’s still summer. But Labor Day is just around the corner, and we all know that in New Hampshire that means one thing – winter is coming. For many of us, last year’s felt especially brutal, with seemingly endless weeks of subzero temperatures and nary a chance to dig out our cars from the piles of snow. If you’re still emotionally recovering from that experience, we have good news for you. The Old Farmers Almanac has just released its predictions for winter 2018-19, and it’s looking like it’ll be a heck of a lot easier to get through than last year (that is, unless you’re one of those folks who lives for snow).

Overall, New Hampshire is looking at an unusually warm and wet winter (notice that we said wet, not snowy. Your Bean boots will get a workout!)

The coldest parts of the year will be late December into mid-January, and then the dreaded early to mid-February stretch. Those are the times you'll want to be curled up in front of a fire!
