You can always rely on New Hampshire to provide the perfect, quintessential New England experience. From cute roadside farm stands to candy shops that have been around for over a century, if you love all things quaint this is the perfect place. When the weather is warm, things are even more fun. Especially when you take an evening to see a movie in the fresh country air.
The Northfield Drive-In is located in Hinsdale and offers one of the most fun movie-seeing experiences in the state.
Movies are a great family activity, but the Northfield Drive-In is extra-special because they offer lots of fun thing for kids before the movies begin. Come early, get a spot and let them loose to burn off some energy.
The theater comes with lots of fun history, including the fact that it was originally built on the border of Massachusetts simply to avoid having to abide by the Massachusetts law of paying two different union projectionists. The answer? Put the projection booth in New Hampshire and the rest in Massachusetts!
Come to appreciate that history and then take in a great film with friends and family for a fantastic night out.
Northfield Drive-In is typically open seasonally Friday through Sunday from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., from spring through the fall. You can learn more about them on their website, but it’s best to check them out on Facebook to get the latest on movie showings and schedule. They can be reached on 603-239-4054.

In addition to the smell of ocean water in the air on rainy days in Portland, she loves puppies, photography, funny people, the Maine Red Claws, traveling, fresh tomatoes, Cambodia and filling out forms.
