This Family-Friendly Park Space On An Island Offers An Ideal Late Summer Outing In New Hampshire
As we near the end of summer it can be easy to get sad about lost warm days. But, don’t fret! Warm days are still ahead and there are plenty of chances to enjoy the fresh air before snow arrives in a few months. As you make plans to enjoy the next few weeks and months, remember that there are so many wonderful green spaces to appreciate right here in New Hampshire. One of our favorites is right near Portsmouth!
Great Island Common, located in New Castle, is a great place to visit if you love fresh air, the smell of the sea, and wide-open space to have fun.
Whatever you choose to do, you'll love that this beautiful park is so close and so lovely.
Great Common Island is open every day of the year from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. You can learn more about it here. Remember that this isn’t a New Hampshire state park so the rules are a bit different. Make sure you know what to do before you arrive.
Michelle has lived in many places, but counts Maine as one of the best. In addition to the smell of ocean water in the air on rainy days in Portland, she loves puppies, photography, funny people, the Maine Red Claws, traveling, fresh tomatoes, Cambodia and filling out forms.
