Dine Among The Treetops At This Restaurant In New Hampshire

One thing that’s true about New Hampshire is that the views are varied and beautiful. Spend some time on the coast and you’ll appreciate the sea air and the sound of gulls. Get further inland and head for higher ground to remember that the Granite State has some of the best mountain views in New England. That’s one of the things we love best about being here – depending on your mood, there truly is something for everyone. And, this little restaurant might just be the best place to go for both sea and mountain views.

The Little Red Schoolhouse in Campton is an adorable sight just off or Route 3. And while it's lovely enough to warrant a stop, those who don't know much about it will definitely be in for a surprise once they walk inside.

Of course, their menu is incredible. And everything is made fresh and local.

Once you've narrowed down what you want to eat - and it won't be easy - you'll need to find a place to sit. Head out back and you'll find what might be the most beautiful dining experience in the area.

Just behind the schoolhouse is a steep drop that make all those who enjoy a meal out back feel as though they're nestled into the trees.

The view is incredible and even on colder days things feel cozy with heat lamps.

And at night it feels as though you've walked into your own private fairy garden.

All these views might make you forget what you're here for, which is some of the yummiest food in the state. We love the lobster roll, but be sure to get it with fresh cut onion rings. And, perhaps convince a friend to get the clam plate so you can share.

You'll also want to try the fish and chips and garlic fries.

Not into seafood? That's okay. Get the Double Dog Dare, which includes two loaded hot dogs topped with chipotle sauce, bacon, cole slaw and onions served on a grilled brioche bun. The house made potato chips and their famous pickles round out the meal.

Be sure to get some handmade ice cream when you're done.

And, grab some locally handmade New Hampshire gifts in the lovely little gift shop inside.
