This Cold Case Mystery In New Hampshire Still Baffles People Today
New Hampshire is a very safe state – one of the safest in the nation, in fact. That means that when someone goes missing in the Granite State, we take it to heart because it’s so unexpected. The shock of a disappearance is even more profound when a woman with a tiny infant disappears without a trace between Christmas and New Years. That’s exactly what happened to Denise Beaudin way back in 1981. Now, 35 years later, the police are asking for new information in this cold case.
This mystery begins on Thanksgiving in 1981. Dawn Beaudin, of Manchester, came to Thanksgiving with her infant daughter, Dawn, and her boyfriend Robert "Bob" Evans. But after the trio left Densise's family's Goffstown home, they disappeared.
About a week later, Denise's family visited her home on Hayward Street in Manchester, and found that everyone was gone. The family knew that Denise and Bob had been having financial troubles, and assumed that the pair fled from that.
That was the last anyone saw Denise, 23, or Bob, 37. At the time, no missing persons report was filed because it was assumed that the pair had run away. But then, things got even more odd.
Years later (although how many is unknown), Denise's daughter Dawn was found. Police say that she is now living with a new name, and doesn't want her identity shared. In 2016, Denise's family got to meet their long-lost granddaughter for the first time.
Police have also found Bob Evans, and say he is an important part of figuring out what happened to Denise. But no one knows that happened to Denise. In 2016 the police released a missing persons report for Denise, and placed her into the National Crime Information Center as a missing person.
Now, police are asking for the public's help. Anyone who knew Denise or Bob is asked to contact the Manchester Police.
This year, police say they will release more information about the crime, in hopes of finally discovering what happened to Denise Beaudin.
