Christmas will be here in only a few short days, but there’s still time to take in the most charming holiday wonderland in New Hampshire. Portsmouth’s Vintage Christmas celebration has been running all month, and if you haven’t visited the city in the last few weeks, make sure you do in the next few days.
Portsmouth is perhaps the loveliest place in New Hampshire during the Christmas season – the town is already so charming, and when it's decked out with lights and trees it absolutely dazzles.
The Vintage Christmas celebration is presented each year by Strawberry Banke Museum and the Music Hall, and includes musical perforamnces, parades, candelight strolls, and more.
Many of the key events have already passed this year, but you still have time to stroll through downtown, peer in beautifully decorated windows, and take in the holiday cheer.
Every day in December (other than Christmas and Christmas Eve) you can enjoy ice skating at Strawberry Banke's outdoor skating rink, which is professionally maintained and an absolute delight to skate on.
If you still want some more Christmas spirit once the holiday is over, head to Strawberry Banke on the 26-31 for Vintage House Tours - they're fascinating and fun. You can also take in a great "year in review" comedy show at the Music Hall on the 26th.
