Enjoying the great outdoors of New Hampshire doesn’t mean you have to embark on a multi-day trek through the White Mountains. You can enjoy fresh air and trees just about anywhere—all you need is a good pair of shoes and a sense of adventure. Even if you’re new at hiking, there are plenty of trails to explore…including this one!
While it's hard to pick favorites, the Pitcher Mountain Trail in Stoddard is quite high on our list! Especially because it's a great hike for both kids and adults. Plus, it's perfect for hikers just starting out.
There's a lot to see on this trail, even before you make it to the actual view. We love the stream babbling its way through the woods. And in the winter there's a little extra calm and quiet.
You'll be able to see all the way to Mount Ascutney and Mount Monadnock. Look extra carefully on a clear day! Some people claim to see as far as Killington in Vermont.
Pitcher Mountain Trail offers great views and fun for the whole family. You can learn more about the hike by checking out its AllTrails page. You can access it year-round, and your furry friend can even come along—just be sure to keep them on a leash. And, of course, remember to keep a safe distance from those nearby for now.
