I’m more of a camper, but I do occasionally enjoy an overnight stay at a nice hotel. While traveling through the Newfound Lake region of New Hampshire recently, I spotted an attractive-looking new accommodation along Route 3A. If not for the sign out front, this New Hampshire boutique motel that’s somewhat tucked away might not be noticed. But as I learned more about The Kelby in Hebron, it became clear that it’s one of the most unique and modern stays around.

The Doyle family opened The Kelby in 2023 on the same site as its previous incarnations, The Blue Moon and the Whip-O-Whil Motel.

The motel sits on the edge of Newfound Lake with abundant opportunities for time on the water, hikes in nature (I can personally attest to this area having some great hiking), mountain biking, and skiing.
