The Best Breakfast In New Hampshire Is Hiding In This Rural Barn
There’s lots of great food in New Hampshire. Whether you like seafood or heartier dinners, there really is something for everyone. But, if we had to choose a favorite meal it might just be breakfast. The best farm breakfast in New Hampshire is located just over of the border from Massachusetts and it’s absolutely delicious.
In operation since the late 1960s, Parker’s Maple Barn has been family-run for nearly 60 years.
It changed hands in 1933 and it was operated by William Buzzell as a dairy farm until the 1950s. After this point he sold the buildings and 80 acres to the McMulkin family who sold it in the 1930s to Ray Parker and his brother.
The barn was dismantled and re-constructed in Mason where it became Parker’s Maple Barn in 1969.
Until in 1987, Ron and Sandy Roberts came to eat at the restaurant. Overhearing that it was for sale, they asked about the details and within a few months it was theirs.
Today, Parker’s is famous for their hearty breakfast menu which is served all day.
The "Parker’s Maple Barn Special" is a giant breakfast featuring two pancakes, two eggs, two pieces of bacon, two sausage links and a piece of ham, home fries and homemade toast. And, of course, it’s served with Parker’s Maple Barn Pure Maple Syrup.
Lunch is always hearty and ranges from fresh haddock to maple baked ham to a roast turkey dinner.
Another dish for which they’re favorite is the Maple Glazed Baby-Back Pork Ribs. They’re slow cooked for hours with Parker’s Maple Barn Maple Syrup making the final dish tender and sweet.
You’ll also want to check out the Corn-Crib gift shop, which you can access by walking through the covered footbridge. Here you can buy tons of maple products made right on the farm.
Parker’s Maple Barn is located at 1316 Brookline Rd. in Mason. They’re open daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. On weekends through the end of October, they stay open for an extra 2 hours until 4 p.m. To double check hours, give them a call on 603-878-2308.
