Open Since 1976, Puppy Love Has Been Serving Hot Dogs In New Hampshire Longer Than Any Other Restaurant
There’s a lot of history in New Hampshire, but would you believe that one of our favorite examples exists in the form of food? This hot dog spot started as a food cart way back in the 1970s and with a whole lot of hard work and dedication it’s still going strong. Stop by if you like simple food with great taste!
Puppy Love Hot Dogs began all the way back in 1976 when Pete and Jo Goodwin bought a pushcart meant to supply lunch for locals in town.
Just two years later, in 1978, they expanded to create something more substantial in the back of a pickup truck. The operation moved to Main Street in Concord where things really took off. In 2005 the business changed once again when their daughter, Gretchen Peters, took over the business.
Soon Puppy Love moved into a brick and mortar location, allowing them to serve their delicious hot dogs all year long.
From April through October the truck is parked right out front! They even started a mobile cart allowing them to visit local events throughout Concord. You can always check their Facebook page to find the day’s location.
Their classic toppings include things like ketchup, mustard, onions, relish, chili, cheese, sauerkraut, BBQ, celery salt, and Tabasco. And with them, Puppy Love can create more than 40,000 different kinds of hot dogs!
Grab a bunch or just a few for yourself and you’ll be barking to come back!
Puppy Love Hot Dogs is open Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. They’re closed on Sunday. You can learn more about them through their website or you can follow them on Facebook. They can be reached on 603-225-8050.

In addition to the smell of ocean water in the air on rainy days in Portland, she loves puppies, photography, funny people, the Maine Red Claws, traveling, fresh tomatoes, Cambodia and filling out forms.
