There’s A Wildlife Park In Nevada That’s Perfect For A Family Day Trip
Located in Henderson is a weird attraction that the whole family can fall in love with. Lion Habitat Ranch is a wildlife sanctuary that contains more than 40 animals, the majority of which are lions. The ranch makes it possible for people to get an up-close-and-personal experience with lions, and therefore gain an appreciation for the creatures. If you love animals, then you’re definitely going to want to check this place out.
The Lion Habitat Ranch is located in Henderson at 382 Bruner Avenue. It is home to more than 40 animals, including a giraffe, wild birds, and lions. However, these aren't just any lions.
The sanctuary is home to the world famous original MGM lions and their descendants. The lions were previously on exhibit at the MGM Grand's lion habitat. When the exhibit closed in 2011, the lions were brought to live together here.
At the ranch, you get a one-of-a-kind experience that you just can't get at a zoo. They offer a behind the scenes tour of the facilities where you can learn about how they take care of the animals. You'll even have an opportunity to hand feed some of the animals.
The owner, Keith Evans, has been working with large cats since 1970. The sanctuary was born out of his love for protecting and caring for these wonderful creatures.
The sanctuary is dedicated to protecting this beautiful animal species from further environmental harm by advocating for charities like Campaign Against Canned Hunting and SanWild.
The ranch provides a truly memorable experience that you'll remember for years to come. Watch Ozzie the Giraffe paint a canvas with his tongue or the lions roughhouse with each other!
This makes the perfect place for your next birthday party or celebration. The ranch offers "Feast with the Beasts" in which you can reserve a private table and enjoy a meal while surrounded by lions. It's bound to be the most memorable meal you've ever had.
Admission to the sanctuary is $25 for adults and comes with one free children's admission. Additional children's admission is $10. Nevada locals get a discount on tickets ($20 for adults and $8 for additional child). They also offer free admission on your birthday.
