Valley of Fire, located about 60 miles from the Las Vegas Strip, is Nevada's oldest state park. Popular activities include hiking, camping and picnicking.

There are countless ghost towns located throughout Nevada that are perfect for exploring. Many of them are former mining towns, and pictured above is Rhyolite - Nevada's most popular ghost town.

Mt. Charleston is the highest mountain in both the Spring Mountains and Clark County. It's quite popular among many hikers because of the incredible views it offers.

Virginia City has many haunted locations, making it one of the most haunted cities in the nation. Pictured above is the Silver Queen Hotel.

Located in White Pine County, Great Basin National Park is the perfect place to go camping.

At 550 feet tall, the High Roller is the world's tallest observation wheel.

Located in Reno, the National Automobile Museum showcases more than 200 unique cars and is a top destination spot for car enthusiasts.

Located in Las Vegas, the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area was Nevada's first National Conservation Area. It offers incredible hiking opportunities.

Burning Man is an annual gathering that takes place in the Black Rock Desert where attendees explore various forms of artistic self-expression. The 2016 Burning Man event will take place August 28 - September 5.

Hoover Dam, located on the border between Arizona and Nevada, was constructed during the Great Depression and is visited by approximately one million tourists each year.

Held at Reno's Rancho San Rafael Park, The Great Reno Balloon Race is the largest free hot air balloon event in the world. The 2016 balloon race will take place September 9-11.

Located in Las Vegas, and standing at 1,149 feet, the Stratosphere Tower is the nation's tallest freestanding observation tower. It offers an incredible 360-degree panorama view of Las Vegas.
